Safety and Health Expo - Day One

I went to the Safety and Health Expo this morning, at the London ExCel. For those who have not been to the ExCel before, it is a massive, cavernous exhibition hall. Arriving at approximately 09:00 hrs I was surprised how busy it was. Last time I was here was 2016 when the IOSH Conference was co-located with the Expo. Certainly busier, and certainly justifies why it moved to London from Birmingham.

Anyway, the Expo. I spent an hour drinking a nice cup of Earl Grey at Costa, catching up on emails, until a friend arrived. At 10:00 hrs the gates opened and we went into the Expo. Only the H&S bit – co-located are shows for Fire, Facilities, and Security. Did not attend any of the seminars either. The aim was to have a wander around and see if there was anything of interest, as I will be back on Thursday for a full day. So basically a recce!

So was it worth it? Yes, even though I was only there two hours. It was good to engage with a few exhibitors, especially NEBOSH and IOSH, and grab a few freebies.
